Chunda’s Hot Sauce is a family-owned business that was birthed on the beaches of Dangriga, Belize. While many cultural traditions are disappearing across the Caribbean and Central America, Dangriga, a coastal town located in Southern Belize still embodies the rich cultural traditions of the Garinagu people. The Garinagu are indigenous people from St. Vincent and the Grenadines who migrated to Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua over four centuries ago. Today, the Garinagu or Garifuna are a dynamic people with indigenous, African, and Caribbean roots. This indigenous Afro-Caribbean culture is just one of many ethnic groups that belong to our beautiful country, Belize.

Traditional Garifuna foods are based around fish, cassava, plantains and bananas,  The food is always rich and hearty. Whether cooked over an open fire or in a modern kitchen, Garifuna meals, though labor intensive, are very delicious because they are flavorful and  prepared with love. Growing up, smelling my mother's cooking over open fire, each meal was always accompanied with a sumptuous pepper sauce or pickled onions and Habanero Peppers.

Chunda’s Hot Sauce and its line of delicious hot sauces pays homage to my parents, bringing to mind warm memories of home. “Chunda” is a term of endearment that my late mother called me.

Filled with a unique variety of peppers along with a few of my special ingredients, Chunda’s Hot Sauce brings the flavors of Garifuna culture to your plate with every bite. Try a bottle of Chunda’s to excite and enhance all of your culinary dishes or give a bottle as a gift.
